- Stir in ground beef, chili powder, and cumin; cook until browned (7–10 minutes). Mix in the tomato sauce and let simmer for another 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, milk, and cheddar cheese until smooth.
- Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish, pour the cornmeal mixture on top evenly, and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve hot topped with sour cream or green onions.
