  • 2 medium sweet onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 packet (1 oz) French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté sliced onions for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions, garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, and French onion soup mix. Mix gently.
  4. Fold in half of the shredded cheese into the meat mixture; reserve the rest for topping.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan, shape it evenly, and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 60-70 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
