Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
  • 8 individual bags corn chips
  • 2 cups chopped lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, avocados, chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 7-10 minutes until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water; allow to simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Open the individual bags of corn chips carefully from the top.
  4. Layer each bag with a scoop of seasoned meat followed by refried beans.
  5. Top with shredded lettuce, cheese, salsa, and any optional toppings you prefer.
  6. Serve immediately with spoons or fingers for digging in!
