Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for crust)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 68 tbsp ice water
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 24 tbsp milk or cream

Instructions

  1. 1. Make the Crust: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms; chill for at least 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Prepare the Filling: Combine chopped strawberries with sugar and cornstarch; let sit to release juices.
  3. 3. Roll Out Dough: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out half of the chilled dough on a floured surface and transfer to a greased baking sheet.
  4. 4. Assemble Pie: Spread strawberry filling over the crust, leaving edges clear. Roll out remaining dough and place over filling; seal edges by crimping.
  5. 5. Bake: Bake for about 35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely before glazing.
  6. 6. Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with milk to desired consistency and drizzle over cooled pie.
