Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 crusty baguette
  • 8 oz flank or sirloin steak
  • 8 oz fresh cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick pieces and brush both sides with olive oil. Toast on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  2. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and sear the steak for about 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let rest before slicing thinly against the grain.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced mushrooms and minced garlic over medium heat until golden brown (approximately 5 minutes).
  4. Assemble by spooning the steak and mushroom mixture onto toasted baguette slices. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve immediately.
