  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (2 for meatballs, 2 for sauce)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 can (28 oz) whole peeled tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for searing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, 2 minced garlic cloves, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs until golden brown on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté remaining minced garlic until fragrant. Add crushed canned tomatoes; season with salt and pepper; simmer for about 15 minutes.
  6. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  7. Add seared meatballs back into the sauce to soak up flavors for a few minutes.
  8. Serve spaghetti topped with sauce and meatballs; garnish with extra Parmesan and parsley.
