- 10 oz tortilla chips (1 bag)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onion until onions are translucent (about 5 minutes).
- 3. Stir in diced bell peppers and canned tomatoes; simmer for about 7 minutes.
- 4. Add chili powder and cumin; mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- 5. In a baking dish, layer half of the tortilla chips, half of the beef mixture, and one cup of cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
- 6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil during the last 5 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- 7. Let cool slightly before serving; garnish as desired.
