  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 4 cups tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water; cook until fragrant (3-4 minutes).
  4. Layer half of the tortilla chips in the baking dish. Spread half of the refried beans on top, then layer half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients: chips, beans, beef, and cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Cool slightly before serving with sour cream, jalapeños, and green onions.
