  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for cookie dough)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (for cookie dough)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for cookie dough)
  • Optional: additional semi-sweet chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, melt butter and whisk in cocoa powder until smooth. Mix in granulated and brown sugars.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract. Scrape sides of the bowl.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together; fold into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently mix in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into greased mini muffin tins or lined baking dishes.
  5. In another bowl, cream softened butter with sugars; add milk, flour, and chocolate chips for cookie dough layer.
  6. Scoop small balls of cookie dough onto the brownie layer and cover with remaining brownie batter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges set but center is slightly underbaked. Cool before serving.
